I
was raised in a Christian household and learned many Christian ideals
at a young age. The only problem was I thought God and Jesus were there
only to serve me. I expected the works- great days, good life and everything
mortal man desires. So as a young man I thought all I needed to do to
acquire this was to ask God for it. This all changed as I began my journey
through college and PRCA rodeo, my traveling partner Jim Morgan, my
college roommate Jeremy Grieble and Colt Orchard, the newest addition
to the crew of Christians that are helping me shape and mold my life
so as t0 serve the Lord. These three great Christians are rocks in my
spiritual life and all have helped me come to realize that God will
serve and provide for me but I must do the same for Him. If it wasn't
for rodeo, I know that my Christian ideals would have remained flaws,
and I never would have asked the Lord into my heart. Instead, I would
have continued to believe that God would just come to me. So I'm grateful
that God led me to rodeo and rodeo led me to God. I give it all back
to Him. All that I accomplish is because of Him so all glory I give
back to God. Money, buckles and fame are fleeting. The prize offered
by God through the blood of Christ is the greatest a person can ever
acquire, I give the glory of these accomplishments back to the Lord
because He gave me eternal life. And that's a prize I didn't have to
earn. It was given to me freely and I'm very thankful for that.
