Will
Farrell grew up near Thermopolis, Wyoming. He began his rodeo
career by riding steers and young bulls, then moved on to full
grown bulls. As a Hot Springs County High School senior in 1997
he won the Wyoming State High School bull riding championship.
After
spending a semester at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Wyoming,
Farrell began his career at Chadron State College in the fall
of 1998. He won the Central Rocky Mountain Region bull riding
championship, qualifying him for the 1999 College National Finals
Rodeo. At the CNFR, he won the National Intercollegiate Rodeo
Association bull riding title, becoming the fourth national rodeo
champion in college history.
After
winning the national collegiate championship, Farrell decided
to continue his education at Chadron State. He won the Central
Rocky Mountain Region in 2000 and qualified for the CNFR in 2000,
2001 and 2002. In 2002, Will won his second national collegiate
championship bull riding title.
On
April 12, 2003, Will married his longtime sweetheart and best
friend, Shawna.
He
continues to compete in Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association
sanctioned rodeos across the nation.
